Boy was it nice to be back in our own beds. I went out for fresh bagels this morning. Today we stayed home and I started working on my Fern journal. Jordi went to the Promenade with her friends and saw a movie. This evening stayed home for dinner and went for a walk to Shoppers Drug Mart for Jordi's camp goodies.
Sunday, July 23
This morning went to Camp Connection for a poncho for Jordi and to Pharmacy 1 for camp goodies. Then went to buy fish for my aquarium. We were caught in the rain coming home. I finished my journal and the main part of this Fern Resort 2006 Website. This evening Jordi stayed home and had pizza and we went to the Gordons for BBQ dinner, which was nice. Uncle Joe and Aunt Myrna were there.
Monday, July 24
This morning went to Golden Griddle for breakfast with Gayle Freedman, Jordi's former tutor. It was a lot of fun and we are going to keep in touch. We came home and packed Jordi's bags for camp. Eventually headed to Centrepoint, as she still needed a few things. Eventually we took her duffel bags to Promenade, then picked up Mary, and went to Pickle Barrel for dinner. Jordi took us out for Lisa's "birthday dinner" as is her tradition. We walked around after dinner and we bought a battery charger for Jordi's batteries to use in her digital camera and a cordless phone for the living room.
Tuesday, July 25
What a nice and busy day. Lisa and I went out in the morning to Dr. Baum to refill a prescription and then to Allan Lustig to get my new orthodics.
We had lunch at home and then went to Hillcrest and eventually to the movies, where we saw, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, which was cute. Then we went to Golden Star for supper. The movie is a real Rosen tradition, going back to when I was a kid. We did this every year before camp. The dinner thing is now a tradition, having started it last year.
Jordi is getting ready now for camp departure tomorrow and making last minute phone calls.
Wednesday, July 26
Would you believe we are just warming up our dinner and it is almost 8 p.m. Lisa is having leftover chicken and I am having sardines. What a busy day it has been. After we dropped Jordana off at the Camp Northland bus departure area, we went to Shopsy's for breakfast. I had omelette and toast and mom had her usual. We then went home for a while and then to the bank to take care of some things in our safety deposit box. Lisa got a bracelet that was there which belonged to my mom.
After we went to Vaughan Mills, the new mall. It was beautiful. We walked around and eventually bought lunch - Chinese. They also had a place for bourbon chicken.
We eventually came home and went to sleep.
We just came home from What a Bagel and Longos. There we ran into Marlene Rosen.
We met the new people moving into the house next to us and we showed them around our place. They seem very nice.
Thursday, July 27
Hi! It's me again (you were expecting someone else?)
This morning we stayed around the house and eventually walked over to Longo's to do some shopping. There we ran into Barbara, my cousin.
We then went to Dominion at Bayview and Major Mac to buy some potatoes and other stuff and walked over to Pizza Pizza for lunch.
Afterwards we went to Home Depot. We are looking at tiles to redo the kitchen.
We finally came home and did nothing much. Tomorrow we are taking Bubie to the doctor in the morning and having Uncle David over for dinner.
Well I guess that is about it. Time to call it a day (a day).
Friday, July 28
Good afternoon. Well, another busy day (its 5:06 now). This morning we picked up my mother in law and went to Sunnybrook where she had a doctor's appointment. We got there early and left early. Then we went to Olympia Tile to look for new tiles for the kitchen and bought two samples. We may just have the winning tile now. After we went to Harvey's for lunch (the restaurant, not the one in my lodge).
After, we took Bubie home and went to Nortown to pick up some steaks for dinner. We came home and did not do much. Luc just came over and gave mom a birthday card and we showed him the tiles. Lisa is cutting up the potatoes right now.
Hi Again. Its's 11:15 now and the evening is about over. David came over about 6 and we started the BBQ. We made steaks and potatoes. It was delicious and we had a great evening.
Guess that is about all for today. So long.
Saturday, July 29
Today we went to the races at Woodbine. Along the way, we passed MacDonald's (McDough!)
We only stayed until after the sixth race, as it was so hot out. After that we went to the casino for a short bit and then cashed in our winning and left. Yes, we actually won. Either Lisa or I or both of us, won on every race. Not bad, eh? For lunch, we had pizza at the races.
Tonight we just stayed home and had dinner at home. It was too hot to go out again. Guess that is about it.
Sunday, July 30
Happy Birthday Lisa!
Today we went to Camp Robin Hood's 60th anniversary. Boy, has the camp changed since I was a counsellor. It has even grown since Jordi was a camper there. Walked around and remembered the past and we came home.
Hi again. Its evening now. We just came home from dinner. This afternoon Lisa took the bus and went to see her mom and I had a nap. Michael came over with a card for mom. This evening we went to Baton Rouge. The food and service was great. After they brought mom a piece of birthday cake with a sparkler in it. Then we went to Luc and Jenny's and took the gift over we bought them.
Well, I guess that's it for my vacation this year. It's been a great one, first with Lisa and Jordana, and then with Lisa. Now its back to work, at least for the next four days. Then Friday sometime its off again for Northbound II (I think there is a visitor's day somewhere in the plans).
Until the next time....live long and prosper!
Don't go too far....we're headed back north...
